Where did the time go?
Last night Cam crawled in behind me and said he was just going to "hang out" for a few minutes. Yeah right this is code for..."hey mom I am going to sleep in here with you :)" But the days of Cam squeezing behind me without a problem are over. As you can see he takes up the entire top half of the bed. When did he get so tall? 
This morning I woke up fairly early trying to beat the heat of the day and the boys waking up so I could get a few things done. But Corey has a sense of when I am up and it didn't take 3 minutes for him to follow me into the kitchen. When I was looking at him this morning with the shadow of his beard coming back I couldn't help but think...where in the world did the time go? It's hard to believe Corey will be 16 in a couple of months, standing there bigger than me. Or that Cam is too big to fit behind me in my queen sized bed anymore, time does fly doesn't it?Labels: cam, corey, pics, reflecting

My oldest son turns 10 this week and when he stands near me, as he nearly will be at my eye level, and runs around with his friends outside all the time, I find myself looking around him for the kid - the little kid - who follwed me around all the time.
Sometimes I do wish there was a "freeze" button on life!
It hit me this summer, when i realized older son's feet are the same size as mine. There is nothing like children to mark the speedy passage of time for us. They are babies for about 5 minutes i think. And while i do very much miss the babies and toddlers they were, i am trying hard to appreciate every stage and phase they are passing through to adulthood.
So does your string bean kid sleep that-a-way on the bed, by the way? :)
It sure does fly. I remember when my son got so big, he's 6'3", very strange. You do get used to it though.
fadkog-I have to agree I look for the freeze button more and more...Cam reaches my chin now too, I think he grew a foot over the summer.
Serenity-yep he does, but in his bed you typically find arms or legs hanging over the edge, sometimes half his body in the middle of the night.
Deb-6'3" I cringe at the idea of Corey being that tall, he can squash me as it is...
Tell me about it, mine are 24 and 21. My wife used to say if the kids would stop growing, then the adults wouldn't get any older as well.
And now, I just found out 3 hours ago I'm going to be a grandpa...
My eldest is on the cusp of 26, so I'm right there with you dearie.
