HNT-9

Plain Jane Single Mom
Originally uploaded by cah1470.

My plain jane single mom icon. I took this picture and made it one of my icons on LJ. I use it whenever I am writing about something completely out of character. Which for me is typically the sexy stuff. So what better icon to use?

Plain Jane Single Mom with 100 entries about her kids and dealing with autism day to day. Then out of nowhere there is an entry about hot sex on a train with MNG. Who knew???

Tagged

Ed tagged me, I feel like I have arrived to the blogsphere or something :) Now I have to think of 6 people who I can pick who will read this. So tomorrow is HNT I will post the HNT after I get a comment from Finished Last, LBP, John, Serenity, Emily, and Tom. And since I know I can count on Tom I will post the pic he requested for HNT. This is a tag where you write 6 wierd things about yourself...

Six Weird Things About CAT

1. I am a music fanatic, I listen to music all the time and when I am not there is a song in my head.

2. I have a weird memory, I remember the most inane things and store them like a computer. I don't realize most of the useless information until I am talking to MNG and out comes some strange out of the box fact.

3. Like Ed I am comfortable talking bible or porn. I am actually fascinated by the broad spectrum of things.

4. I am multi-orgasmic I can have several in an hour, now you know what I mean when I say hot yummy sex. What else do you call several orgasms? Oh yeah lucky.

5. I don't watch local news, my mom says it is dangerous. But I figure if I don't hear it on public radio or see it on the internet it isn't worth knowing. I don't want to hear every tragic detail of the day to day.

6. I actually like chef boyardee. I love good italian food belive me. But I can still have a can of ravoli with grilled cheese, no problem.

my boys

my boys
Originally uploaded by cah1470.

This picture is one of my favorite snapshots of the boys. I had been warned by a lot of the parents in the autistic society that my son might not react well to a baby brother in the house. So I was really worried about if they would get along. I made a point of not changing the way I treated him even with the baby in the house so he wouldn't feel jealous. Of course this was impossible to do because I was breast feeding but I gave it a try. My oldest son rarely even acknowledged that the baby was there. Like a lot of autistic people he has a thing about eye contact and in most instances you will never be sure if he noticed you.

Anyway once my youngest became a toddler I found him in my autistic son's room quite a bit. I would shew him out but he would always wind up in there. One night I went in to check and he had crawled in bed with him. Now he has his own room and my autistic son had bunk beds at the time. But they still preferred to sleep together.

It is always nice when my son doesn't behave the way the text books, the parents, or his doctor says he will. It is moments like the one in this picture that make all the work worthwhile...

HNT-8

Well it is the day to count your blessings and be thankful. I have quite a bit to be thankful for. Today I will be surrounded by my family. I am blessed to still have my grandmother. My sons have had the rare experience of knowing both grandmothers/grandfathers and even great grandmothers which I consider to be a wonderful thing.

I have a lot more cooking to do so I better hop to it. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and HNT...

Following in Finished Last's footsteps

I stole this meme from Mr. Nice Guy and the idea to tag myself :) Here are 5 things you may not know about me.

1. I used to be an assembler in an automotive plant. I used to assemble Bendix emergency air brakes and the actual brake valve for trucks. Hard to imagine isn't it? Yep I am a UAW member too. We supplied air brakes for Freightliner and Ford to name a couple. I always tease my family when we are traveling and tell them they better move out of the way. You never know who might have assembled those brakes ;)

2. My best friend took me to see Tears for Fears at the Fox theatre in Atlanta for my 20th birthday. The opening act was Deborah Harry which at the time I didn't know who that was. We were talking through her entire set and so was a large percentage of the crowd. Then she began to sing The Tide is High and I saw 18,000 faces get this strange look of recognition. OH!!! That's Blondie!!! Hehehehe.

3. I am a NPR snob. Yes folks I listen to National Public Radio and I find people who don't a bit slow if you know what I am saying ;) I try not to be a snob about it but yeah I am.

4. After number 3 this is going to sound even more strange but it is true. When I am not listening to current events on NPR I find myself listening to Hip Hop Nation (got to love satellite radio). Every once in awhile I will ride around with the music blaring at untold volumes. Sometimes I think my ribcage is rattling because the bass is so strong. Now this is not something I do all the time. But every blue moon a little DMX or a little Common is required what can I say.

5. I don't watch reality television shows. To me they are completely ridiculous and yes I am lumping them all together because there is no value in separating them. If you want drama I can tape a week at my house believe me it is much more entertaining.

TMI Tuesday...

Well things were quiet last night and I have regrouped emotionally for another day. I figured TMI Tuesday was as good a post as any to move my whine on down a bit...

1. Have you ever bought an adult magazine? No, but not because I have an issue with them. I am more of an erotic fiction type person.

2. Did OJ Simpson really do it? It doesn't matter he was acquitted, the real question is why people still care? And why some publishing house gave the moron a book deal.

3. Is Clay Aiken gay? I am not an American Idol fan, I actually have never watched an entire episode.

4. Are you racist? If so who do you hate? No, but I am not naive. I think we all have prejudices and paradigms. But I don't have the power to be racist to anyone and I don't have any desire to be. And I definitely don't hate anyone.

5. Ever videotaped yourself having sex? No, I think I would be too self conscious. MNG and I have had that conversation before he says I would do it, but I doubt it.

Bonus (as in optional): On a scale from 1-10, how kinky are you? A year ago probably a 4 or a 5 but I am moving up on that scale maybe a 6 or a 7 :)

What Else?

Well I am not sure what else actually. I just know I am tired of the admittedly fascinating but still strange dancing dora :) I had a very upsetting time with my son yesterday. We crossed a line and I am not sure what my next move will be or should be. I felt emotionally spent yesterday. Like I have given all I can give, tried all I can try, and refused giving up as many times as I am capable of. When I woke up this morning I was done. I didn't call my son's care provider to see how things went last night and I had even decided not to go to my son's IEP meeting. I have never missed a meeting, never. But I had left a message and told his teacher to have the meeting without me and fax the paperwork and I would just sign it. Then of course his care provider called and told me he had a very rough morning. She was concerned that he wouldn't make it through the day. He was off schedule on top of everything else and I knew I would get a call from the school by lunch. So I went up to the school, brought his favorite jacket and brought his book bag. And since I was there I went to the meeting. Within about 5 minutes I was the advocate again. Well why is this still a goal didn't he have this goal 2 years ago, are you saying you haven't worked on the goal? Why has his speech hours been removed he is still not communicating or using his words or did something miraculous happen within the last hour? And on and on and on....

After the meeting I went into his classroom and walked over to his desk. The minute he saw me he gave me a hug and said "sorry" in that voice and with the speech that is the only give away that he is special needs. When I didn't immediately hug him back and say it was alright, he said "it's alright, it's alright" the same way I always do. And I was ok again. Ok, but still concerned because each episode although a lot less than they were before are much more severe. And each time I come away from it feeling less and less secure that I am going to be able to handle him until he is 21. I just don't know how many more badges of courage I am going to find in my bag, ya know?

HNT-7

A typical thursday morning drinking my 2nd cup of coffee. Oh and wearing my flyy girl t-shirt, I can't forget to mention that. I love this t-shirt but I never wear it outside of the house, Flyy Girl??? That is a little too 80s even for me...

Happy HNT.

TMI Tuesday...

1. Without looking it up, do you know what polyamorous means? Yes. It means having multiple partners. But not a bunch of one night stands, real relationships.

2. Now that you have looked it up, do you believe polyamory is possible? Yes, but for me it is utopia. It is hard enough finding one person to have a honest healthy relationship with.

3. Do you regret any past sexual partner, sexual liaison or missed opportunity for one? I try not to regret as a rule it doesn't serve any purpose. But if I had it to do over I probably wouldn't have had the first few sexual encounters. They were about the guy and pleasing him and trying to prove I wasn't inhibited and it had little to do with me actually wanting to have sex.

4. Have you had sex with a virgin after you lost your virginity? nope

5. What is your favorite sexual position? I say I like being on top but I don't really have a preference.

Bonus (as in optional): Where did your most public "sexual" act take place and what was it? Hmm. . . I would have to say the hand action under the blanket on the train with MNG...

I am not done yet...

My son says that to me most every morning when he is giving me a hug. I am usually rushing because I am usually late. And he will come in to hug me but when I pull away he always says, "I am not done yet." Yep, I know I am lucky and I know it won't last much longer. This morning he said "come on mom we have to hurry so we can miss the van." I know I shouldn't have laughed but it's funny and true. We do rush to miss the van since we rarely catch the van. I don't mind though I enjoy taking him to school, spending those extra minutes with him in the morning...

A Quiet Sunday...

Rocky marathon.... Oh yes I am one of those people. I have watched Rocky (doesn't matter which one) a million times. I discovered the marathon in the middle of the 1st Rocky and of course I have been watching them ever since. In between the Philly vs Redskins game that is, I do have my priorities...I am watching Rocky III the most quotable sports movie of all time by my estimation. If you disagree I only have one thing to say "are you talking to me you paper champion?"

Anyway I have housework to finish, two boys to get ready for a new week, and the rest of Rocky III and Rocky IV to watch :)

miss you much

My best friend sent me the link to this video. I love Janet Jackson and for better or worse this song was THE song for a certain period of my life. Which is why she sent it to me. Because seeing the video reminded her of me and a time when I would play the CD over and over. As a matter of fact it's the 1st CD I ever bought! Damn I am old.

Young Cat rushing home to see her man with Janet Jackson blaring. Yep that was me. Oh and she didn't just send the quick 3 minute version she sent the extended version that I taped. Yep that's right I recorded it one night while watching MTV. Remember when they actually played videos on that channel? Did I mention I am old?

Was I drunk when I posted some of these????

I figured a pic with nothing but my "I Voted" sticker would be fitting for this week.

More of the same?

I hinted in a previous post that I was afraid we were going to see more of the same in this election. I sincerely hope that statement turns out to be untrue. I don't want to turn this into a political blog by any means. But I am involved and I actually vote so I guess some of that will inevitably spill over into the blog.

I hope everyone takes the time to cast their vote today. No matter what your political beliefs I think we can all agree that there is something to be said for checks and balances. And that it is dangerous for any person or party to have too much power left unchecked...

I got this list off of Cycle Guy's blog and I figured I would add it. You know so my political stuff is not just hanging out there with nothing fun to end with :)

11. What were you doing at midnight last night? Sleeping.
12.Where is the furthest place you've ever called to talk to someone?Panama.
13. Do you like having your hair pulled? Hmm, depends.
14. What is it that you can not wait to do? Have more personal freedom, time for myself.

This Small Space...

One of my favorite shows on HGTV and where I find a lot of great decorating ideas. Yep I am a home improvement person. Well typically I am. The last year has been the me and my autistic son show. And admittedly I have let a lot of things go in an attempt to keep my head above water emotionally. But this weekend was a welcome return to my renovation kick. My furnace gave me a scare on Friday but luckily it was only a blown fuse. I did a little yard work yesterday and I did a lot of housework today. And of course watched football :) It is my turn to host Thanksgiving this year and I really wish I had the budget for the loveseat I want to complete the living room but I don't see that happening **sigh** But I did get a lot done and I can actually visualize all my family over for dinner in a couple of weeks so I figure I have made progress...

Just Rambling...

Just rambling for no other reason than I don't want to pull up my blog and see my "whomp dere it is" behind staring at me anymore.

-I talked about my teams in the past and now we are in a do or die situation. It was quite heartbreaking to have the Panthers lose to Dallas of all teams. Dallas! With that prima donna Owens who screwed things up for my Donovan. But as much as I hate to admit it the man can play even if he is a queen. Just know if the Eagles and the Panthers lose on Sunday I am not going to be a pleasant person to be around that's all I am saying...

-What makes a break up an insult to a woman but just part of the scheme of things to a man? What I mean by this is if you are involved in a one night stand the woman was used. If there is a break up the man is a liar or a cad. If you have a significant encounter and I love you and/or marriage aren't offered the man was abusing the woman's feelings. What is up with that? Whatever happened to a woman being the master of her domain? Maybe she just wants to have sex because she thought the man was hot and she liked his company. Maybe when things end as they inevitably do it is because of the reasons the man gave and not because he was looking for a free piece of ass. Or maybe he was, hell maybe the woman didn't want more than that anyway? I am just saying, you know for arguments sake, not that I have a personal stake in it or anything :)

Is it just me or are we in for a lot of the same in the 2006 election? I just feel the same since of deja vu I did in 2004 and it makes me sad. Do we have to lose all our civil liberities before Americans realize that God should be in church and not in government? I am just saying that christians running the government doesn't give a sinner a sure win to heaven so why bother mandating personal morals on the masses? Christianity is a personal choice and it is about individual faith. Government is something that each citizen has a right to participate in. And if my moral stance doesn't come into question when they are taking 25% of my income it shouldn't come into question when I expect equal rights and equal protection, that's all I am saying.

Why does the furnace wait for the 1st 20 degree night to break? Ugh!

HNT-5

Webcam at it's best :) I don't want to start the whole "my butt is so big" again. It is just a little too close to the girl in high school who was always asking if she looked fat. When I was younger the butt was the bane of my existence. As I have grown older I have learned to accept the strange round like addition to my small frame. But I still don't like people to walk behind me LOL...

Revenge of the backside part 2 :) Actually I think you get a better idea from the front shot. Oh and I love thigh highs every girl should own a pair...

Trick or Treat?

Well my son and I went out last night with my sister-in-law and nephews. I was surprised to see so many kids that weren't really dressed up. Maybe they just had a mask or their face painted. I was also surprised to see how many kids didn't say trick or treat. They just walk up to the door and open their bags. I really think my son got extra candy just because he was in full costume (a ninja), he said trick or treat, and then he said thank you afterwards. Oh and I wouldn't let him cut in anyone's yard (we homeowners have to stick together :)

Yesterday was the 1st time in 3 years we went trick or treating. It was also the 1st time I didn't take my autistic son. He is too old anyway and I think it was good for my youngest to go with his cousins and have a stress free good time...
